Start by reviewing the initiatives described on the Sustainable Stanford website. Then, identify the domain that you’d like to explore and use as the focus for your Design Project 2.
The idea is that you’ll be working with a Stanford Group to understand their challenges and needs as they promote their sustainability initiatives. You’re task will be to work with them to design a project that will help to promote sustainable behaviors and practices for the clients that they serve.

The domain/area that I’d like to focus on is….
The domain/area that I’d like to focus on is water usage and infrastructure across on-campus housing. Stanford currently possesses the “Water Conservation, Reuse, and Recycling Master Plan” to identify ways to keep water demand below the current San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) allocation of 3.033 million gallons per day. It includes small and large scale sustainability goals and implementations of the plan, all of which were published in 2003.
And the reason that this area is important and meaningful to me is….
In Panama, I grew up with an abundance of water. Heavy rain meant that, for the most part, I did not have to worry about limited water usage. Now in California, I am faced with the reality of water as a finite and delicate resource. I want to learn more about sustainable water use to reassess my relationship and knowledge of water consumption.
