Practice Exercise (Optional)

• Use the Copy/Monitor tools to copy the levels from the architectural model into your structural model.
• Open an elevation view.
• Open the Copy/Monitor tool and select the linked architectural model.
• Use the Copy tool to copy each of the levels.
• Click the Finish checkmark to close the Copy/Monitor tools.
• Create new structural plan views for the new levels that have been added to the structural model.
• Open the Plan Views tool and select Structural Plan.
• Choose each of the new floor levels that have been added to the structural model.
• Note how the new structural plan views appear in the Project Browser.
• Use the Copy/Monitor tools to copy the grids from the architectural model into your structural model.
• Open a plan view.
• Open the Copy/Monitor tool and select the linked architectural model.
• Use the Copy tool to copy each of the grids. Try using the Multiple mode to select several grids at a time.
• Click the Finish checkmark to close the Copy/Monitor tools.
• Use the Copy/Monitor tools to copy the floors and structural walls from the architectural model into your structural model.
• Open the default view.
• Open the Copy/Monitor tool and select the linked architectural model.
• Use the Copy tool to copy each of the floors from the architectural model.
• Use the Copy tool to copy the structural walls (around the elevator and stair shafts) into the structural model.
• Click the Finish checkmark to close the Copy/Monitor tools.
