  • Place a few structural columns manually at Level 1.
    • Open the Level 2 - Structural plan view.
    • Open the Structural Columns tool.
    • Choose the column type and size to place from the type selector in the properties palette.
    • Set the column placement options in the Options Bar to:
      • Level: Level 2
      • Depth: Level 1
      • Placement: Vertical Column
  • Place a few structural columns manually, trying to place them at the intersections of grid lines.
    • Hover over the intersection of grid lines and notice how they highlight when selected for placement.
    • Tap the spacebar on your keyboard to rotate the columns before placement.
  • Place the remaining structural columns at Level 1 using the At Grids multiple placement mode.
    • Open the Level 2 - Structural plan view.
    • Open the Structural Columns tool.
    • Choose the column type and size to place from the type selector in the properties palette.
    • Set the column placement options in the Options Bar to:
      • Level: Level 2
      • Depth: Level 1
      • Placement: Vertical Column
      • Multiple: At Grids
    • Select all of the grid lines whose intersections should be used to place new columns.
    • Click the Finish checkmark to finish the multiple placement operation.
  • Switch to the 3D - Structural View to confirm the column placement locations.
    • Verify that the columns are spanning between Level 1 and Level 2.
    • Adjust the column Base Level and Top Level properties if needed.
