Final Week Announcement!

Dear Students,

As we near the conclusion of our design journey together, we want to offer you some words of encouragement and remind you of the crucial steps ahead. Let's break down what's coming up into three key areas:

Poster Requirements and Deadlines

  • Deadline is Tomorrow (March 12, 2024): Make sure to finalize your posters and submit them by the deadline. We will print your posters and put them on the wall.
  • Dimensions/Format: Your poster should be a 24 x 36 PDF. Upload it directly to our designated Google DriveLinks to an external site. (found on Notion as well). It can be either horizontal or vertical.
  • Please include your name in the file name and on the poster.
  • Remember to highlight your project's goals and the strategic approaches you've taken as an executive summary, rather than include everything from your design journals. The poster should effectively communicate your project's essence through a few impactful images and high-level headings or captions. Remember, it's about allowing someone to understand your project in about 1 minute.
  • Please check the rubric that is posted on canvas for specific items we will be looking for.

Check-ins and Design Journals

  • No Check-Ins This Week: We're giving you all the space you need to focus on your final submissions without interruptions.
  • Final Design Journal: Your final design journal is due by midnight this Friday March 15. It's an integral part of your project, encapsulating your reflections and the lessons you've learned throughout the course.

Poster Presentation and Feedback

The poster presentation will be on Thursday from 6-8pm in the Green atrium 2nd floor. While it's not mandatory, we strongly encourage you to attend the session in person. It's a fantastic opportunity to present your work, engage with peers, and receive direct feedback. Being there to discuss your project adds a valuable personal touch.

For the poster session, you will be required to:

  1. Evaluate 2 assigned posters (per this Feedback assignment sheet hereLinks to an external site.)
  2. Evaluate 1 poster of your choosing.

If you won’t be able to attend in person, please review the posters on the Google Drive Links to an external site. and post your feedback by Monday March 18th end of day. Also, the posters will be up in the Green atrium through finals week.

This is the final stretch, and your dedication and creativity have been truly inspiring. We're looking forward to seeing your projects come to life in your posters and hearing about your design processes in your journals. Let's finish strong and make this presentation a highlight of our class.

Good luck and reach out with any questions!
