I tried to explore the idea of the modular nodules in drawing applications and did a sketch of an octagon shaped room that I’ve thought about for other applications (recording studios) in the past. Some of the feedback received included concerns about security and traffic jams if there was only one central circular corridor to access the rooms in the octagon.
The above square nodule example explored an idea Thomas had for using the corners of the main building and creating more square footage while maximizing views by popping the classroom slightly outside the main structure. I found this use of space really inspiring and loved the concept of the room hanging off the side of the building like fungus on a rotting tree stump.
