Project 2 - Ideating
- Use divergent thinking to come up at least 8 different How Might We alternative strategies for addressing the need.
- Then use convergent thinking to distill these down to 3 potential design ideas.
Divergent Thinking: How Might We… alternatives to consider
We could:

- Strategy 2

Convergent Thinking: Three Most Promising strategies / design ideas
You'll present these 3 potential design ideas in class on Tuesday, February 27. And we'll discuss which of these potential ideas will be the best candidate to pursue by defining a MVP and protyping/testing the idea.
- Sustainability Survey that gives you a sustainability personality rating
- MVP: easy to use, easy to understand, accessible, every personality has strengths and weaknesses, easily comparable w/ others, personalities have short descriptions
- Not only just saying what’s wrong or right, but also how to make people feel better/get better (actionable)
- Make more of a daily trivia game
- Survey that asks how many plug loads people have
- multiple versions/drafts & ask for people which ones they prefer
- Phantom Power?
- Paper Towel Dispenser that tracks how many rolls have been used/gives impacts
- MVP: Dispenser w/ encoder to track # of rotations, screen that displays impact for each paper towel/total impact, programmable to dispense different amounts/account for different types of paper towels
- Published Dorm-by-Dorm energy reports which allows for “competitions” to reduce energy consumption in favor of more neighborhood/dorm funds
- MVP: model that explains system -> dorm energy metering (not sure if these are already implemented) -> data collection every month -> published results online, through slack, email lists, etc. -> RF & RA encouragement to save energy -> reward system -> distribution and hypothetical use of funds
