Test 1: Creating a New Revit Project
Step 1 - Create a New Revit Project
- Open the Revit 2024 application.
- On the Revit home page, click the New... button in the Models section of the navigation bar, then open the Template file pull-down menu and choose the Imperial Multi-discipline template.
- Click OK to create the new project.
- Confirm that the new project has been created with no error messages.
- If a new project file is created with no error messages, this confirms that the Revit application and the base content libraries (which include the project templates) are installed properly on your computer.
Step 2 - Add a Revit Family to your Project
- In the new Revit project, switch to the Insert tab and open the Load Family tool (Insert > Load from Library > Load Family).
- This should open the Revit content library installed on your computer, and you should see a list of folders including Annotations, Boundary Conditions, Casework, and so on.
- If you do not see this list of folders, the Autodesk Revit 2024 Content libraries are not installed on your computer. If this happens:
- Use this link to open the Autodesk Revit 2024 Content website.
- Download and install the Revit Content Pack for your preferred language and unit system.
- Note: If you are using Revit 2024 on one of the computers in Y2E2 184 or in the Apporto virtual environment, you will not be able to install the Autodesk Revit 2024 Content libraries. You can download individual Revit Families from an online Content Library using the Insert > Load Autodesk Family tool.
- Navigate to the Furniture > Seating folder (or the equivalent for your language) in the content library and load a chair family into your project. The specific families included in the Sample Content Library vary with each of the language versions, so choose any chair family that is available in your library.
- Place an instance of the new chair component in the Revit drawing area.
- Switch to the Architecture tab and open the Model Text tool (Architecture > Model > Model Text), then place a text object displaying your name in the drawing area next to the chair component.

Test 2: Open an Existing Revit Model
- Download this Revit project file to your computer:
- Open the Revit 2024 application.
- Open the Revit home page, then click the Open... button in the Models section of the navigation bar.
- Navigate to the location where you've downloaded the testing file on your computer.
- Open this Revit model file: Test2-LabBuilding.rvt
- Open the 3D View: Interior - Test 2 Confirm Look for a message to confirm your success.
- Save a screenshot of this view.
Add your screenshot submissions by clicking the +New button to create a new card in this gallery.
(If you don’t see the + New button, click the Edit button in the toolbar at the top of the page.)
The Module 1 Template template will appear for formatting your submission. Just click the text area below the headers and just start typing your response.
There's no need to add new properties.
